Keralites to participate in WMC in Cochin
Dubai, Aug 2 (UNI) More than 30 Keralites in Bahrain have left for Cochin to take part in the World Malayalee Council's (WMC) fifth global conference to be inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan tomorrow.
The conference, which would last till Sunday, would be preceded by a two-day international youth festival, that opened yesterday.
Prior to leaving for Cochin, WMC Bahrain Province President Mansoor Moideen said about 2,000 delegates from about 40 countries around the world are expected to take part in the conference.
The highlight of the conference is a series of seminars on IT, tourism, education and health would. WMC is taking up a BD 2.5 million Model Global Village for which more than 100 acres of land has been identified in Kuttikkanam, Kerala, said Moideen.
The project would feature world class education, health, tourism and IT facilities, he added.
