Illegal Mandrax tablets manufacturing unit busted, 4 arrested
Mumbai, Aug 2 (UNI) The city police has unearthed an illegal Mandrax tablet manufacturing racket and arrested four persons in this connection.
The police has seized two manufacturing machines from the industrial unit at Ghatkopar here.
Senior police inspector Pradeep Sharma informed that upon receiving a tip-off on July 27 that three persons would be arriving at Andheri to sell Mandrax powder and tablets, a trap was laid and the trio arrested. The three have been identified as Razak Rupani (57), Ahmed Nazir (49) and N Narayanan (40).
The police seized one kg of Mandrax tablets from Razak and 542 gm of the Powder from Ahmed Nazir Khan.
During their interrogation, the three revealed about their manufacturing unit at Ghatkopar. Police raided the unit and arrested the owner, Ashok Tripathi (27). Police seized 554 gm of Mandrax tablets and two manufacturing machines from the spot.
The four were produced before a local court which remanded them in police custody till August 4.
