IIT-M genius to assist Bill Gates and company

New Delhi, Aug 2 (UNI) Microsoft Corporation Pvt Ltd has announced that Abishek Kumarasubramanian of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, will assist Bill Gates and his team in developing new technologies for one year.

Mr Kumarasubramanian has won a one-year internship with Microsoft by clearing Code4Bill, an India-specific competition.

''Through Code4Bill, we have met some of the most promising technologists in the world, and are looking forward to one of them joining us to infuse creativity and a fresh perspective into our future technology strategy,'' Microsoft Corporate Vice President (Corporate Strategy) Alexander Gounares said.

''Code4Bill has provided me an insight into cutting edge product development and innovation and by winning the competition I have bagged an unmatched opportunity,'' Mr Kumarasubramanian added.

The competition included three online technical challenges, and two rounds of one-to-one interviews. Out of 20,000-odd participants, 19 students got selected for two-month internship with Microsoft India.
