Humid day, mercury rises to 35 Deg C

New Delhi, Aug 2 (UNI) A day after high-speed winds brought about certain coolness in the weather, perspiring conditions resurfaced in the capital today as humidity levels rose to 80 per cent.

Though South Easterly winds continued, the high level of humidity, coupled with bright sunlight, led to a rise in maximum temperature to 35 degree Celsius, from 33.7 degree Ceisius yesterday.

The minimum temperature too rose to 27 degree C, from 26 degree C yesterday.

Meanwhile, the lull in rainfall, barring a short burst of heavy showers on Monday night, continued today.

The capital had received the heaviest spell of monsoon showers last Wednesday. There has been a lull in rainfall with the capital witnessing sunny days interspersed with cloudy weather in the last few days, resulting in constant rise in mercury.

The weather office has forecast a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or showers in some areas of Delhi during the next 24 hours.
