HC rejects plea on Self-Financing College Act implementation
Kochi, Aug 2 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today dismissed a Public Interest Litigation(PIL) seeking to implement the Kerala Self-Financing College Regulation Act, 2006, from this year itself.
In the writ petition filed by Kerala Vidyabhyasa Samithi and Private School Teachers Association it was submitted that college managments were causing obstructions and hindrances in implementing the Act, which was beneficial to the student community.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice V K Bali and Justice M Ramachandran dismissed the petition in limine, holding that the reliefs sought were far too premature, since the vires of the Act is under challenge and pending consideration before the Court.
