Govt to hire doctors to boost primary health centres
Patna, Aug 2 (UNI) In order to boost the functionings of the primary health centres, the state government has decided to appoint 394 doctors on contractual baisis.
Cabinet Secretary A K Chauhan said here today that the decision was taken by the cabinet with the motive to provide round-the-clock medical facilities in the remote areas.
He said the arrangements will remain in place for 11 months during which the doctors would get a flat salary of Rs 500 per month. They would be selected by the respective district health committee chairman-cum-district magistrates.
The reservation roster would be followed during the appointment of the doctors on contract basis.
He said the government was contemplating to form district cadres of doctors for the rural areas, but since the process of creating of the cadres was time consuming the government has made alternative arrangement by appointing doctors on contract.
