Government has no plan to reopen the Stilwell road
New Delhi, Aug 2 (UNI) The Government today denied that it has taken up the project of re-opening of Stilwell road for commercial use with Myanmar and China.
Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed however, informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply that Government is considering the commissioning of a pre-feasibility study on the matter of reopening of the Stilwell road.
In response to another question on the opening of a consulate in Lahore and setting up of a trade mission in Yatung in China following the opening of Nathula Border, Mr Ahamed said there is no such proposal before the Government.
