Death penalty for slaying family

Jagdalpur, Aug 2 (UNI) A sessions court today awarded capital punishment to an accused who murdered his parents and 12-year-old sister.

Judge C B Vajpeyi handed down the death penalty to Shyamlal Yadav who assaulted Raghunath Singh (55), Sanpdeyi (50) and Suvidha at Bastar district's Vorandi village on the night of September 22, 2005 with a pestle as he was annoyed over a reprimand.

Yadav's wife, who was asleep in the next room, was awakened by the victims' cries and became eyewitness to the dastardly crime.
