Srinagar, Aug 2 (UNI) The Dalgate area, where two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were shot dead by Jaish-e-Mohammad militants yesterday, wore a deserted look today.
All the shops, particularly in the interior Dalgate remained closed, affecting normal business activities in otherwise busy area.
Shopkeepers alleged that they were not allowed to open shops by the security forces deployed in the area.
Two CRPF personnel were shot dead from point blank range by militants when they were purchasing some eatables from a shop.
Additional security forces were deployed in the area today who were seen frisking all pedestrains and searching vehicles.
People coming from interior Dalgate to main road were being frisked at two places.
However, traffic on main road was plying normally.
About nine tourists were killed and scores were injured in three grenade attacks in the same area in July.
