CM directs NIMS Director to prepare report

Hyderabad, Aug 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today instructed the Director of Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) to prepare a detailed project report to develop a world class infrastructure for an exclusive heart institute on its own land measuring about 150 acre in Bibinagar.

Dr Reddy said all heart-related treatment systems should be under one roof at Bibinagar.

Reviewing the plans for the upgradation of NIMS, he said the proposed heart institute should have state-of-the-art technology and top ranking research facilities.

He said the stem cell research, bone marrow transplantation, nano technology and clinical research systems and Flourosis Research Institute should be developed.

While referring to the existing premises of NIMS in Punjagutta, he said improved services should be offered, modern facilities and an exclusive accident and emergency centre should be developed.

Minister for Medical, Health and Finance K Rosaiah, Principal Secretary I V Subba Rao, Director NIMS Prasada Rao and other senior government officials attended the meeting.
