Central sanctions upgradation of ITIs as CoE
Hyderabad, Aug 2 (UNI) The Central Government today accorded permission for upgradation of five Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) in Andhra Pradesh, as 'Centres of Excellence' (CoE) with World Bank assistance.
An official release said here, the Government accorded permission to Visakhapatnam Kakinada, Vijayawada, Kothagudem and Sangareddy ITI centres in the state for this academic year.
The Centre had already upgraded five ITIs last year in the state.
The Central Government had introduced centrally sponsored scheme, upgradation of ITIs into CoE. The objective of the scheme was to upgrade the existing institutes into CoE for producing multi-skilled work force of world standard.
Admission into these sectors would be taken up in August, the release added.
