Buses damaged over alleged desecration of Ambedkar statue

Nashik, Aug 2 (UNI) Angered over the alleged desecration of a statue of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar in Akola two days ago, some protestors today pelted stones on transport buses in Vihidgaon area, situated between Nashik and Deolali camp.

Police said five buses of the State transport corporation were damaged in the attack.

A child also suffered injuries in the incident, and has been admitted to hospital.

Security in the area has been stepped up, while situation is under control, police added.
