Jaipur, Aug 2 (UNI) All India Anti Terrorist Front national president Maninder Singh Bitta today called for formulating strong anti-terrorist laws to fight the menace and asked the Centre to stop being soft towards Pakistan which is fomenting terrorism in the country.

Addressing a press conference here the former youth Congress leader lashed out at all the political parties for indulging in vote bank politics at the cost of the country. He said a serious issue like terrorism has to tackled only with determination and all political parties were paying only lip service with no concrete action to fight the evil.

He said at the moment no special laws were in place for the trial of terrorists after the abolition of TADA and POTA. He called for the formulation of ''anti terrorist military courts'' where trials could be completed within a maximum period of six months so that punishment could be handed out instantly. He also opined that in the case of terrorists the provision of clemency should be done away with.

Mr Bitta also urged the Manmohan Singh government to immediately stop all bus and train services between the two countries if the government has evidence of the role of Pakistan in fomenting terrorism in the country. He said these services have given a convenient route for the terrorists to sneak into the country.
