Arrested reporter released

Tirupati, Aug 2 (UNI) Two persons, including a reporter who were arrested on charges of allegedly painting Holy crosses and slogans on the walls of Balajinagar Colony houses in the Tirumala hills, were released by the Tirumala police after the charges against them proved to be false.

Police said here Balajinagar Colony residents handedover the Sudharsan TV Channel reporter OM Prakash Agarwal, belonging to Delhi and Viswanath Damodhar of Tadapalligudam when they were taking croses and slogans to the TTD Vigilance Officer Mr Nagoor Reddy on July 30.

The interrogation conducted by the district Superintendent of Police V V Gopalakrishna and the TTD Vigilance Official for more than two-days proved that they were innocent and had no involvement in the painting of crosses and slogans on the walls.
