AIADMK members stage walkout in Pondicherry Assembly
Pondicherry, Aug 2 (UNI) The three-member opposiition AIADMK staged a walkout in the Pondicherry Assembly protesting against the postponment of an 'important' question raised by legislature party leader A Anbazhagan today.
As soon as the House assembled, Mr Anbazhagan raised a point of order and said his question pertaining to admission to professional colleges through the centralised admission committee had been postoned.
He wanted to know the reason for the postponement and wondered whether the government was unable to give a reply.
Speaker R Radhakrishnan intervened and said the minister concerned had sought some time to prepare the answer and hence the question was postponed.
Chief Minister N Rangasamy said the administration was concerned with the welfare of the local students and the reply to the member's question would be given soon.
However, unsatisfied with the Chief Minister's reply, Mr Anbazhagan along with other members Om Sakthi Segar and Omalingam walked out of the House. They, however, resumed their seats after a few minutes.
