247 leave for Amarnath, 455 for Buddha Amarnath

Jammu, Aug 2: A fresh batch of 247 pilgrims left this morning from here for darshan and puja of 'Ice Shivlingam' at the holy cave shrine in the Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said the batch, comprising 156 man, 15 women, 3 children and 73 sadhus, amidst chanting of religious hymns and slogans, was given a flag off at MA Stadium this morning.

Sources said a fleet of the pilgrims left in eleven buses under tight security arrangements.

Another batch of 455 pilgrims also left today for Buddha Amarnath pilgrimage at the border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir on the fourth day of yatra.

Official sources said the batch, comprising 326 males and 129 females left in the fleet comprising 6 buses and 5 light motor vehicle.
