2 notorious dacoits gunned down in encounter

Mathura, Aug 2 (UNI) Police today gunned down two notorious dacoits -- including a wanted criminal -- in an encounter under Jamunapar police station area here.

SSP Satyendra Vir Singh said acting on a tip-off, a police team cordoned off the forest of Nangla Chiranji and after a brief encounter, the alleged dacoits Rajpal and Bijendra were killed.

The deceased are said to be real brothers, with Bijendra carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head.

Mr Singh informed over two dozen cases of murder, loot, dacoity and kidnapping were registered against the duo.

Two firearms were also seized from the spot.
