New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) Work on the New Ashok Nagar - Noida sector 18 section of the Delhi Metro is all set to commence tomorrow with the starting of test piling work on the stretch.

The seven-kilometre Noida-New Ashok Nagar line, to be constructed by the Delhi Metro in collaboration with the Noida authority, is a part of the second phase of the metro, that will span a length of 76 km.

To be built at a cost of Rs 736 crore, of which the Uttar Pradesh government will spend Rs 643 crore, the line will have six stations - starting from New Ashok Nagar and passing through Sector 15, 16, 18, botanical garden, golf course and ending at the city centre in sector 32.

The section will be divided into two stretches. While the first stretch of about 3.28 km - from New Ashok Nagar to Sector 18 - will have stations at Sectors 15, 16 and 18, the 3.7-km second stretch will have stations at Botanical Garden, Golf Course and the last one at City Centre at Sector 32.

The construction work will begin tomorrow with test piling work near City Centre in Sector 32.

The DMRC and the Uttar Pradesh government had signed an agreement for the construction of the line, that will connect the national capital with the IT capital of Uttar Pradesh in April 2006, following which soil testing work was completed on the stretch.
