US-based Java application developer opens Indian unit

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) US-based global Java application developer Agitar Software today announced the incorporation of its Indian subsidiary - Agitar Software India Pvt Ltd, which will be headquartered in the country's IT capital - Bangalore.

''India is one of the biggest software markets, developing cost effective and premium quality software. However, organisations here feel the need for better quality software, shorter development cycles and transparency in the development process, which Agitar's solution provides,'' Agitar Software CEO Jerry Rudisin said.

The company's clientele in India include Cognizant, Cisco, Mindtree, Honeywell and Polaris.

The software developer has appointed Mr Vishnu Raned as country manager for its Indian operations. He will be responsible for all aspects and functions of the Agitar's business in the region, including sales, business development and operations.

''I am excited to head the India operations as this market has the potential to Agitar's second largest market, after the US by 2007,'' Mr Raned said.

He comes to Agitar from Segue Software and has over seven years of IT product and services sales experience. He has worked with companies like Hewlett-Packard, IBM Rational in India and Accenture in Germany.
