Srinagar, Aug 1 (UNI) In a major security breach, two people including a woman, drove their car upto the main gate of the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislative Assembly complex when the session was on.

The intruders crossed two drop gates to reach the main gate of the complex. This is the same place where militants had blown an explosive laden vehicle in October 2000 killing 40 people and injuring scores.

Official sources said a maruti car failed to stop after they were signalled at the first drop gate of the Assembly complex from Jahangir road side.

They said after the intruders crossed two gates, they were stopped at the third gate outside the heavily guarded complex by the security forces.

Sources said they were identified as Akshay Kumar Khurana from Delhi and his cousin Shurti Sharma from Jammu.

The driver was reportedly drunk, the sources said.

They were lodged in police station Sheedgunj.
