Three held for abetting flesh trade
Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) Police today arrested three persons, including two women who brokered the marriage of a Hyberabadi girl, for allegedly attempting to sell her for flesh trade.
According to police, Ms Farida Begum of Rein Bazar was married to one Fakkruddin of Mumbai on June 15, this year. Though Rs 30,000 was paid as dowry to Mr Fakkruddin, he demanded Rs 50,000 more and started harassing her.
When she expressed her parents' inability to meet the demands, the in-laws also started torturing her. They also allegedly made arrangements to sell her for flesh trade.
Sensing the danger, Ms Farida made her escape from Mumbai and landed in Hyderabad. Today, she lodged a complaint with Rein Bazar police against those who arranged her marriage.
