Six students dead as bus falls into river

Sonepat, Aug 1 (UNI) As many as six students drowned and four others were washed away when a school bus fell into a river near Nanheri village in the district today.

Superintendent of Police Yogendra Nehra said the bus carrying 25 students of Sat Kumba Vrisht Public School of Kheri Gujjar fell into the Khobru Jhal river at about 0845 hours.

The bodies of six students were taken out of the river while four students were still missing. Fifteen students were saved, out of which eight have been hospitalised.

The driver of the bus fled the spot immediately after the accident and the police are trying to apprehend him.
