Silver rises on bullish global advice, gold steady

Mumbai, Aug 1: Prices of silver rose on bullish global advice while gold remained steady on moderate demand in the opening session today, according to traders at the bullion market.

Following were today's opening rates : Silver (per kg) .999 fineness grade : Rs 18,075, Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint: : Rs 9,605, Gold 99.9 purity variety : Rs 9,650.
