Rs 1,097 crore central funds released to UP
Lucknow, Aug 1 (UNI) Following efforts made by the Uttar Pradesh Rural Development Department, an amount of Rs 1,097.22 crore has been released by the Centre out of the total allocation of Rs 1733.76 crore.
Rural Development principal secretary V K Sinha said here today, the pace of rural development schemes had been accelerated.
''I am personally reviewing the process of every scheme with the help of the Rural Development commissioner,'' Mr Sinha added.
The concerned officials have been strictly directed to ensure the benefit of departmental schemes and programmes to the poor people.
''Laxity in this regard will not be tolerated,'' he warned.
