'Peace process misinterpreted'
Kohima, Aug 1: Veteran Congress leader and Goa Governor S C Jamir has said that the very word 'peace process' is wrongly used by all groups in Nagaland.
Talking to media persons during the celebration of Tsungremmong festival of Ao community at Ungma village under Mokokchung district yesterday, Jamir said as a person involved in Naga politics, he still continued to take interest in the political development of Nagaland. He said his personal view is that the ceasefire was a means only to create congenial atmosphere to enable the Naga people to discuss, to deliberate and to work out a consensus about their future.
The ongoing dialogue between the Centre and the NSCN-IM is a political process, but not a peace process. Because of the cease-fire, the ongoing political dialogue was possible and its aim is to resolve the Naga issue.
