Panchayat official, Junior Assistant convicted in bribe case

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) The City Special Judge for Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today conivcted Mohd Mahaboob Pasha, Executive Officer of Nagarkurnool Gramapanchayat in Mahaboob Nagar district in a case of bribery.

He was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs 1,000. Mr Pasha was arrested by the ACB when he accepted Rs 1,500 as bribe from the complainant on March 24, 1999.

In another case, the Judge convicted K Pitchaiah, a Junior Assistant of SETKHAM office in Khammam in a bribe case and sentenced him to undergo one year imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs 200.

He was trapped by the ACB on March five, 1994 when he demended and accpeted Rs 200 as bribe from the complainant, an ACB release said here.
