Kolkata, Aug 1 (UNI) Daily services of two North Bengal-bound trains - 3147 up Uttarbanga Express and 3149 up Kanchan Kanya Express- will resume tomorrow and run via diverted route after a gap of nearly three weeks.

The North Bengal bound long distance train services from both Howrah and Seladah stations here remained suspended since July eleven following detection of major damage in one of several railway bridges between Swadinpur and Nalhati stations under Rampurhat section of the Eastern Railway because of overflowing of the rainfed Brahmi river in Birbhum district.

Eastern Railway sources here today said in the wake of increasing public demand for immediate resumption of the daily services the two trains would now run via Naihati-Bandel-Katwa-Azimganj-Dhulian Ganga-New Farakka-Malda Town even as the repair work in the damaged bridge was continuing on war footing.

The sources said while the Uttarbanga Express will re-start its journey from Sealdah tomorrow and the Kanchankanya Express will resume its journey from New Coochbehar station the next day.
