New GOC-in- C in south Western Command

Jaipur, Aug 1 (UNI) Lieutenant General Parmendra Singh has taken over as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Jaipur-based South Western Command today.

An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, the general was commissioned on December 16, 1967 into one of the oldest and illustrious Regiments of Artillery.

The general officer is a graduate of the Long Gunnery Staff Course, the Defence Services Staff College Course, the Higher Command Course and the elite National Defence College Course. He has held various staff and institutional appointments during his career.
