NE's to have its first rubber factory

Agartala, Aug 1 (UNI) The North-Eastern region will witness the inauguration of the first 'rubber tantu' factory at the Bodhjungnagar Industrial estate in Tripura's West district on August 14.

According to sources, The Dharam Pal Satya Pal group had so far invested Rs 80 crores for the modern 'rubber tantu' factory which would soon commission at Ramchandranagar industrial estate here.

Chief of the factory E A Subramanyam informed 15 tons of rubber tantu would be produced daily, which is the second of its kind in the country and first in N E region.

40,000 litre liquid latex would be required daily for this purpose Mr Subramanyam said adding the rubber cultivators of the state would supply the required liquid latex.

He also added more than 50 people would recieve employment after the production starts and further said the factory would export 30 per cent of the product to Bangladesh, Srilanka, Brazil and other latin American countries.
