Bangalore, Aug 1 (UNI) The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) will hold a summit on offshoring engineering services here on August four.

With the theme 'The next frontier and potential for India', the summit would dwelve at length on the NASSCOM and Booz Allen and Hamilton (BAH) report on the theme and provide a detailed perspective on the potential for outsourcing in engineering services and key enablers for India to address this opportunity.

India had established itself as the most preferred ITeS and BPO destination globally with revenues in the financial year 2006-07 estimated to be US Dollar 36 billion. Driven by the demonstrated success of adapting offshore delivery to traditional IT services and BPO, firms were increasingly applying the same concepts to increase returns from their core product/service design and development processes. Outsourced engineering and R and D services were expected to drive the next wave of outsourcing, NASSCOM said in a release.

The summit would be inaugurated by NASSCOM President Kiran Karnik. NASSCOM Chairman B Ramalinga Raju would also speak.

Karnataka IT and BT Principal Secretary would give a presentation on the engineering services offshoring potential in Karnataka.
