Militant attack in Kishtwar foiled; LeT terrorist arrested

Jammu, Aug 1 (UNI) Security forces today foiled a militant attack in the areas under Kishtawar police station of Doda district by arresting a hardcore militant of Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Toiba, official sources said here.

Doda SSP Manohar Singh said, security forceses arrested nine persons including one Lashkar-e-Toiba militant, three Over Ground Workers (OGW) and one Special Police Officer (SPO) in three separate incidents in Doda district.

The hardcore militant from LeT was arrested by secuyrity forces and two live Chinese made grenades were also recovered from his possession.

The militant was identified as Mohammad Yusuf from Hatli Mod Kothwa.

Security forces intercept a Bullero car and arrested three supporters of Hizbul Mujahideen with three powerful grenades in one of the areas falling under Thathari police staion. They also recovered Rs 1.70 lakh from their possession.

The third incident took place in Kishwar where three suspected persons including a SPO were arrested. Police sezied 400 liters of kerosene from their possession.
