JNNURM houses by year end

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) Construction work on 20,019 houses sanctioned under the Jawarharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission(JNNURM) for the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) would be completed by December this year.

This was disclosed during a review meeting held by the Chief Minister here today to discuss the progress of the scheme in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

According to an official release, the G+2 pattern could be permitted wherever required.

The meeting decided that work on 28,389 houses sanctioned under JNNURM in Ranga Reddy District for surrounding ten municipalites, outside the MCH area would begin immediately and completed by December.

About 52,000 applications had been received under Rajiv Gruhakalpa Programme in MCH area. Bank clearance had been obtained for 14,395 cases so far and verification of the remaining applications would be taken up immediately.

The JNNURM and Rajiv Gruhakalpa Schemes in MCH area would be handeld by the MCH Commissioner.

The construction of houses under Rajiv Gruhakalpa would be taken up by the AP Housing Board and those falling under JNNURM would be executed by the AP State Housing Corporation Limited.
