DSP killed in road accident in Bengal

Panskura, Aug 1 (UNI) Three people, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (CID), were today killed when their car collided head on with a truck on NH 6 at Jaykrishnapur in Midnapore district.

Superintendent of Police of the district Ashok Dutta said the DSP, Suvankar Chatterjee, who was in the Special operation group dealing with the Maoists, along with his security Biman Chatterjee and driver Pradip Debnath were en route to Jhargram when the vehicle carrying them collided with a lemon-laden truck.

All the three died on the spot.

The vehicle had been seized and the driver arrested.

The bodies had been sent for post-mortem.
