Corruption to be reduced by 70 pc due to RTI Act : Joshi
Akola, Aug 1 (UNI) The Chief Information Commissioner of Maharashtra state government Suresh Joshi has claimed that corruption in government as well as public offices would be reduced by nearly 70 per cent with the implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act 2005.
Briefing mediaperosns here today afternoon, he said that the RTI Act, which is the brain child of the Central Government, needs strong public awareness campaign.
Transparency in the working of government offices and the responsiveness of bureaucracy are the two major benefits of the RTI Act, he added.
