ASI among 3 officials held for taking bribe
Chandigarh, Aug 1: In the continuing statewide drive to curb corruption, the Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught three more officials, including an ASI, for taking bribe.
An official spokesman said the Bureau had caught Umed Singh, ASI, posted at Dulina in Jhajjar district while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 10,000 from one Ramesh Kumar for not demolishing a 'chabutra' illegally constructed behind his house.
In another case, the Bureau officials caught Naresh Kumar, a clerk in Food and Supplies Department at Gohana in Sonipat district while accepting a bribe of Rs 1500 from Mr Anand in lieu of giving him licence for a ration depot.
The third arrested officer was Abdul Mazid, a C A in UHBVNL, Gurgaon.
He was caught accepting illegal gratification of Rs 2,000 from Mr Bodan Ram for issuing him reconnection of electricity, the spokesman said.
