A person shot dead by his brother

Barrackpore, Aug 1 (UNI) A 78-year-old man of Gaipur in Uttarpradesh was shot down by his younger brother at the latter's residence of Kamarhati under Belgharia police station area in North 24 Parganas today.

Police said here that Subhas Yadav (50), possesing a double barrel gun, shot down his elder brother Bindhyachal, who came to his younger brother's house three to four days back, following some property related disputes.

Police arrested the ex-serviceman following the incident. His wife, who allegedly instigated him to kill Bindhyachal, escaped arrest.

At least, two bullets were shot on the victim.

The victim was declared dead by local Sagar Dutta hospital.
