Yet two more hideouts busted in Kashmir, war like stores recovered

Srinagar, July 31 (UNI) Troops have unearthed two hideouts and recovered war-like stores in the Kashmir valley overnight, a defence ministry spokesman said today.

He said a search operation was conducted by two Grenadiers and four Para at vilage Phaknar in Baramulla district of North Kashmir last evening following information about the hideout.

He said troops smashed a hideout and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, including thirteen 60mm mortar bomb, eight UBGL grenades, 92 rounds AK ammunition, two RPG rounds, one radio set and 300 kgs assorted ration.

In another search and destroy operation, 21 Rashtriya Rifles recovered a cache wrapped in a polythene buried underground at Nichahom, Buna Wadar in Kupwara district.

Recoveries included twenty 60mm mortar bomb, fifteen rocket HE 20mm and 21 mm, fourteen RPG rounds, nineteen RPG boosters, twenty one UBGL grenades, one AK rifle, 650 rounds ammunition and one empty ammunition box. All items rusted and not in a state of use.
