WB govt to finalise Dankuni project soon
Kolkata, Jul 31 (UNI) The West Bengal government would shortly finalise the township project in Dankuni, about 20 kms from here, with real estate developer DLF, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said today.
"We will finalise the agreement with DLF for the Dankuni township project in a few days time," Bhattacharjee said in the agreement signing ceremony with consortium led by Salim Group and Gurgaon based real estate developer Unitech group.
The Dabur group is also planning to expand its presence in the medicinal plants segment, he said.
He said the state needs a deep sea port for the proposed SEZs in Haldia and the state government is pursuing the matter with the Centre.
The chief minister said the Centre had almost finalised the modernisation of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport and the project would kick off soon.
He said the state is planning to have a greenfield airport in future.
"The Videocon group is also planning two SEZs in North and South Bengal," he said.
"We will maintain a balance between industrialisation and agriculture," he said.
