UK-based Rexam to set-up can-making facility in Mumbai

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) UK-based consumer packaging company Rexam Plc will enter into a Joint Venture with Hindustan Tin Works (HTW) to set-up a facility for manufacturing two-piece tin containers (Can) in Mumbai.

''Hindustan Tin Works and Rexam will sign a joint venture for manufacturing two-piece tin containers (Can), which are generally used in the packaging of beverages,'' sources in the packaging industry told UNI.

The manufacturing unit for beverage cans, which India usually imports for domestic use, will be set-up in Mumbai, sources said, and added that the companies would formally announce their tie-up tomorrow.

Rexam Plc is one of the world's top five consumer packaging companies, having many big brands in its customers' list for two-piece beverage can.

Similarly, established in 1958, HTW Ltd enjoys a leading position in the metal container industry in India.
