Two UP criminals killed in encounter

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) Two 'most wanted' criminals from Uttar Pradesh were today gunned down in a police encounter in Timarpur area of North Delhi, following a tip-off.

Zulfikar (26) and Nazakat (22), who hailed from Meerut, were shot dead in return fire by the police in an encounter at Ramghat Road in Timarpur at about 1700 hrs, according to a senior police official.

Following the encounter, the injured accused were taken to the nearby Sushrut Trauma Centre where they were declared brought dead.

Two country-made pistols, a number of cartridges and a car were recovered from them, he added.
