Two persons held at Tirumala hill

Tirumala, July 31 (UNI) Even as Endowment Minister J C Diwakar Reddy and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam's (TTD) specified authority recently promised to prevent non-Hindu religious activities at the sacred hills of Tirumala, the local Balaji Nagar people held two persons, while they were videographing cross symbol and slogans belonging to Christianity painted on some houses at the colony in the hills.

According to police here today, the Balaji Nagar colony residents, who earlier protested against the controversial fact-finding-report, supported with the TTD management caught two persons, Om Prakash Agarwal, a native of New Delhi, working for Sudharsan channel in Bangalore and Viswanatha of Tadepalligudam when they were trying to videograph cross symbol and handed over to TTD Vigilance Officer Nagoor Reddy.

When contacted, the Balaji Nagar residents alleged that the sudden appearance of the ''cross'' on some houses was the handiwork of the duo to disturb communal harmony.

Treating this issue as serious, TTD PRO K Ramapulla Reddy said, stern action would be taken against them as per the law.

Later they were handedover to Tirumala II town police for further action.

According to Tirumala II town police, the interrogation was still going on and cases were registered against them.
