Truck robbed, 2 wounded critically
Varanasi, July 31 (UNI) Armed criminals robbed a truck carrying grocery items worth Rs 15 lakh, after critically injuring the truck owner and driver in Aurai area of neighbouring Bhadohi district.
Police here today said four armed criminals intercepted the truck coming from New Delhi en route to Patna late last night and attacked truck owner Babloo Singh and driver Salim with sharp edged weapons.
The criminals fled with the truck leaving them unconscious.
The matter came to light when residents of the area spotted the duo lying unconscious on the roadside early today.
Both Salim, belonging to Kaushambi district and Babloo, hailing from Aligarh district have been admitted to a private hospital in Varanasi, where their condition was stated serious.
Search operations are underway to nab the absconding criminals.
