Trinamool Congress demands Chief minister's resignation for CAB poll
Kolkata, Jul 31 (UNI) Adding further twist in the post CAB election scenario, All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) today demanded immediate resignation of Chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee following the defeat of City Police Commisioner Prasun Mukherjee in yesterday's high pitched electoral battle.
Coming down heavily on the role of the Chief minister in the CAB elections where he had directly supported the candidature of City Police Commissioner for the post of CAB President and for his derogatyory comment about Mr Jagmohan Dalmia even after his winning the polls in a cliff hanger, senior AITC leader and leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Partha Chatterjee said it was very unfortunate that Mr Bhattacherjee had decided to spit venom against Mr Dalmia even after he pulled up a stunning win.
Describing Mr Bhattacherjee as a very emotional person, Mr Chatterjee was of the opinion that as a Chief minister Mr Bhattacherjee should not have made such derogatory comments.
Also charging him with bringing politics into the sporting arena, Mr Chatterjee said on the contrary, owning full responsibility at the defeat of his supported candidate the Chief minister should immediately step down owing moral responsibility.
Incidentally, describing Mr Dalmia's retaining the post of CAB President as a victory of evil forces against the good, the Chief minister today said Mr Dalmia's win will also doom the growth of cricketing talent in Bengal.
'The fight to oust Mr Dalmia does not end with yesterday's elections and is still on", the Chief minister told newsmen when asked to comment about the poll.
