TCS to develop framework for lifescience software applications

Mumbai, July 31 (UNI) Sequenom Inc, a leading US-based software provider of genetic analysis solutions for epigenetic analysis, fine mapping and molecular medicine, has entered into an agreement with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to develop software solutions that will support Sequenom's next generation of sofware tools and enable the delivery of greatly expanded functionality to their customers.

Making a formal announcement in this connection here today, TCS CEO and MD S Ramadorai said, ''Life sciences practice was critical for TCS which will grow in line with the growth of pharmaceuticals and healthcare industries''.

The software solutions to be developed by TCS will allow Sequenom to rapidly develop and deploy software products that will empower its customers to discover, analyze and report genetic information.

TCS' software package, Bio-suite, which was developed by the company in November last year, will be integrated within the framework and will provide out-of-the-door box analytical capabilities for Sequenom's products.

Sequenom President and CEO Harry Stylli, said on the occasion that the software solutions will be an important contributor to the success of our efforts to give our customers more value and more rapidity.
