Search on to trace missing Jadavpur University student Arundhuti
Purulia, Jul 31 (UNI) Search is on to trace Miss Arundhuti Ghosh, an M Pharma student of a 5-member trekking team of Jadavpur University, who went missing since Friday night after a mishap, that already killed two members, police said today.
Bodies of Suvankar Saha (24) and Swati Das (22) have been found at the bank of a local river on Saturday.
Before that two other members-Bappadity Chatterjee and Kaushik Sarkar- have been rescued by local people on Friday night.
Speaking to UNI, Additional Superintendent of Police,Purulia, Rajesh Yadav said extensive search was continuing in the district and neighbouring Jharkhand state, as the Shova river and dowry cannel connect Subarnarekha confluence at Ichagarh, Singbhum.
Five students, who had gone trekking at Mathaburu in Bagmundi of Purulia met with an accident.
While the body of Swati was handed over to the relatives in Kolkata yesterday and kins of Suvhankar taken away the body at Dinhata in north Bengal today.
The two students, who survived the mishap, have been assisting the search operation, Mr Yadav said.
