PNB Q1 net up 2 pc; final dividend of 60 pc

New Delhi, July 31: Punjab National Bank today posted an increase of 2.61 per cent in net profit at Rs 367.52 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 358.16 crore for the corresponding quarter last year, besides declaring a 60 per cent dividend.

The total income of the bank increased from Rs 2,542.79 crore in Q1 FY06 to Rs 2,921.80 crore in Q1 FY07, an increase of 14.9 per cent, a bank statement said.

The Board of Directors of the bank has declared final dividend of 60 per cent at Rs 6 per share for the financial year 2005-06.

This is in addition to the interim dividend of 30 per cent at Rs 3 per share paid on December 19, 2006. With the declaration of final dividend, the total dividend for 2005-06 is 90 per cent, the statement added.
