One DHD shot dead, 5 injured in Asom

Silchar, Jul 31 (UNI) One Dima Halam Daoga (DHD) cadre was shot dead on the spot and five others injured, two of them seriously, at Old Maibang in North Cachar Hills district of Asom last late night by suspected DHD (Jewell group).

South Asom Range DIG, Asom Police Mr Y K Gautam told UNI here today that the victim was identified as Baraidao Ardoo (25). All the injured were rushed to the Halflong Hospital.

High officials rushed to the site and combing operations were on.

But no arrest has been possible till now, he said.

In all 9 DHD cadre were staying in a rented house at Old Maibang.
