Nigerian arrested for trying to cheat, over staying

Bangalore, July 31 (UNI) A Nigerian was arrested on the charges of cheating and over staying.

Police said Vincent Eze Godwin, resident of Omila Abiba, was arrested yesterday on a tip off that he had tried to cheat one Maua Shefeeq, a resident of the city, by sending him an e-mail that he had won 10 million US Dollars and to get the amount he had to pay 3,550 Dollars.

A team, led by Joint Commissioner of Police Gopal B Hosur, effected the arrest. During interrogation, the Nigerian revealed that his visa had expired and he had been over staying in India.

A case had been registered against him under the Foreigner Act and attempt to cheat.
