Narayana Murthy calls for greater Indo-Sino ties
Mysore, July 31: It bellwether Infosys Chairman and Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy today called for greater Indo-Sino harmony and friendship for mutual benefit.
''India and China are big neighbours in the region, housing 40 per cent of the world population, and it will be a shame if there is no good relationship between the two countries,'' he told newspersons here.
Mr Murthy was replying to questions on the company's last year's training programme under which it had imparted training to 100 young engineers from China, and it would be repeated this year too.
He said this was basically on a request from the Chinese government and there was no quid pro quo for Infosys which was not looking for any major contract from the Chinese government for the favour.
Highlighting the need for increasing the relationship between people, corporates and others, he advocated the need for greater exchange of people, especially youth who would be leaders of tomorrow, among countries and said this would lead to a better future in this world which was now filled with rift and hatred.
Mr Murthy said hatred was being spread and religion used to kill innocent people.
