'PMO 'Mole' issue likely to be discussed in RS'

New Delhi, Jul 31: The controversial issue of a 'mole' in the Prime Minister's office, raised by Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh in his book 'Call to Honour...', is likely to come up for discussion in Upper House of Parliament tomorrow.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told newspersons that the issue might be taken up tomorrow. He, however, did not confirm whether Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would be present in the House when the 'mole' issue was taken up.

He said it would be decided on Wednesday when the Prime Minister would make a statement on Indo-US nuclear deal. Asked if it would be followed by a discussion in the Lok Sabha, he said it would be decided by the Chair.

He said the Government would be able to finish a number of legislative business in this week which included the Right to Information Bill, Banking bills and Human Rights Bill.

Regarding the RTI bill, he said the Left Parties had expressed some reservations and suggested that notings on defence, security, intelligence and personnel should be kept out of the purview of the proposed legislation. The Government was, however, yet to firm up its opinion on the matter.
